2003 Memories on the Back 20:

Without any warning, actor John Ritter suffered heart problems and passed away at age 53.  Most famous for the 70’s sitcom Three’s Company, he had over 100 acting credits in TV and movies.  John Ritter was rehearsing on the set of the sitcom 8 Simple Rules…For Dating My Daughter when he suddenly fell ill.

“The Steven Bartman Incident.”  Steven Bartman tried to catch a foul ball at Wrigley Field during game 6 of the National League Championship Series (Cubs/Marlins).  However, he ended up preventing left fielder Moisés Alou from catching it.  Many believed this cost the Cubs the Penant and a shot at the World Series, which the Florida Marlins went on to win that year.

On this very day, January 10th, 2003, George Strait was inducted into the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame in Fort Worth.
