The internet started looking like something we’d recognize today.  Web Blogs, aka Blogs now had tools so that common people could use them and comment on them.  Yahoo released Messenger for chatting.  And mp3’s went from the web to the pocket when the first mp3 player, the MPman F10, was released in Japan in 97 and started hitting America in 98.

Seinfeld’s 2 part finale aired and got the second highest ratings that year after the Superbowl.

Tim McGraw’s song Where the Green Grass Grows was also parodied by “the Weird Al Yankovic of Country Music,” Cledus T. Judd (no relation).
