1994 Memories on the Back 20:

The IBM Simon Personal Communicator is released, considered later by experts to be the very first “smartphone.”  It only lasted about 7 months before IBM stopped producing them.  Smaller flip phones with longer lasting batteries were preferable to an old “brick” phone.

The George Foreman Grill is released, which helped “knock out the fat” as the heavyweight boxing champion put it, with a tilt design that let the fat drain off when cooking.

“Cookies” were invented– the kind on your computer.  Thanks a lot, Netscape Navigator!!
