1994 Memories on the Back 20:

The Family Feud’s second incarnation was struggling in the ratings, and they decided that the host, comedian Ray Combs, had to be let go.  But someone in management thought it was a good idea to tell Ray BEFORE he taped his last episode.  Was that smart?  SURVEY SAYS… BUUUUZZZZ!   Let-go-Ray let it all go and had a completely hilarious final show, in which one contestant got zero points on their speed round.
Ray walked off after the credits started, not mingling with the family as the host normally did– possibly because mic drops were not yet a thing.

Three college students invented the game Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, who had by that time, joked that he’d wored with practically everyone in Hollywood.  The game was based on the saying “six degrees of separation” and  became a runaway hit.
