David Jones says it’s what any father would do!  Jones was supposed to have just a two-hour drive from South Carolina to Johnson City, Tennessee, for his daughter Elizabeth’s wedding. But after the devastation of Helene, that turned into 7 hours by car and another five and a half hours on foot.

He found himself in total darkness using only his cellphone for light and a reflective stake for safety. At one point, he found himself stuck knee deep in mud and a backhoe moving debris that didn’t see him!  He had to duck out of the way and eventually got himself free from the mud to continue on. He got there in time to walk his daughter down the aisle, and she had no idea what he went through to be there until after.

At the reception, he gave that reflective stake to the couple as a reminder to be protective of each other and good reflection of each other and God.
