Man killed, woman seriously injured in Alaska highway crash
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) – Authorities say a man was killed and a woman was seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision on an Alaska highway.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports Alaska State Troopers say Fairbanks resident Meghan Blemke was driving a 2016 Toyota Camry northbound on the George Parks Highway at 10:20 p.m. Friday when she lost control and crossed the center line at Mile 172 near Hurricane Gulch.
The Camry was T-boned by a southbound 2017 Jeep Wrangler driven by Dominic Comerate, also of Fairbanks.
Blemke’s passenger, Willie Graham, of Fairbanks, was pronounced dead at the scene. Blemke suffered life-threatening injuries. She was transported to Providence Hospital in Anchorage.
Troopers say the highway was wet and icy, as rain and snow were falling at the time of the incident.
