ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) – Employees at a bar and grill in Chugiak say someone broke in over the weekend and stole the business’ safe full of cash.

KTVA-TV reports that Birchwood Saloon filed a police report on Sunday, saying someone broke in that morning and stole the safe.

The saloon posted to Facebook offering a cash reward for any information on the break-in.

Bartender Joleigh Rainwater described the safe as a very “stout,” heavy older-model that is about the size of a cooler.

She says Chugiak is a “tight-knit community” where “everybody knows everybody.”

Rainwater says detectives were out for several hours collecting evidence.
