State Individual Disaster Assistance Hotline Is Up And Running

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) – The lines are open starting Tuesday, for Alaskans who need financial assistance in getting their lives back on track following the destructive 7.0 magnitude earthquake that damaged structures and roads on Friday.

The number, called the State Individual Disaster Assistance Hotline, opened at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management. It’s purpose? To connect individuals and families who were impacted financially by the earthquake, with money to help pick up the pieces and rebuild.

The number is 1-855-445-7131, and can also be accessed online at Those applying will need some things before they can be considered for any assistance from the grant money.

Callers will need:
– Description of damages and/or losses
– Address of property which sustained damages
– Your personal insurance information and identification information

DHS said in a release that, in order to be eligible, state damage verifiers must have access to the damaged property and/or photos, documentation, or other proof of damage.
