Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church (HTGOC) is hosting their 29th Annual Alaska Greek Festival on Aug.18, Aug.19 and Aug.20.
The Alaska Greek Festival will be taking place at HTGOC 2800 O’Malley Rd. from: 3 p.m. – 9 p.m., Aug.18; 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., Aug.19.; and 11 a.m.- 5 p.m. Aug.20.
Come and enjoy the best of Greek culture in Alaska! Taste traditional foods from lamb to vegan and traditional Greek pastries. Enjoy and listen to live traditional Greek folk music by The Athenians from Athens, Greece!
Watch traditional Greek folk dancing, with performances at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Aug.18; 2 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Aug.19 and 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Aug.20.
Stop by the Agora (market place) to buy imported Greek items, shirts, jewelry and more.
Ever wondered how to make Greek food? Watch a cooking demonstration, with demonstrations at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 18; 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Aug. 19 and 3 p.m. Aug.20.
Do not forget to stop by the Taverna (bar) to enjoy local micro brews and wine. There will also be a split the pot raffle. Come and bring the whole family rain or shine!
Free parking and free admission!
There will be parking available at HTGOC and across the street at the Abbott-O-Rabbit baseball field. The
Anchorage Police Department (APD) will be directing traffic.
