My wife and I received our Anchorage Municipal Election ballots in the mail today.  I knew they were coming but wasn’t too excited about it.  I just figured I would go and vote at my polling place like I’ve done for years.

Nope.  The usual voting places are gone.  If you are going to vote, you have to use your ballot in your mailbox.  You can fill out your ballot at one of the Accessible Vote Centers (see below)

You have 3 options to vote in the upcoming election.  You can fill it out, sign it, and mail it.  Or, you can drop it off at one of several secured ballot drop box.  Your third option is to bring it to an Accessible Vote Center.  Either way, you need to do it by April 3rd.

Since this is the first time Anchorage has done this, there are glitches and oopsie daisies that are expected.  Maybe you didn’t get yours….maybe you got two.

If you lose or do not receive your ballot package in the mail, call the Voter Hotline at 907-243-VOTE (8683) to request a replacement ballot.

You may also visit an Accessible Vote Center for a replacement ballot.  You must have proper identification to get a replacement ballot.
